Itinerary for our Baltic Christmas Markets Tour

An early morning flight awaits you on Ryanair to Tallinn. Depart at 06.45 and arrive Tallinn at 11.35 (2 hours ahead of the UK). You'll be met by a Baltic Holidays representative and driven to your hotel in Tallinn old town, where you'll stay on a bed and breakfast basis at the lovely 4* Taanilinna hotel for 2 nights. Free time to get freshened up and some lunch, and our guide will meet you at the hotel and take for a 2 hour walking tour of Tallinn.

Day 2 (Monday) TALLINN
Today is free to explore Tallinn, wandering the cobbled streets of old town, browsing the boutiques and craft shops, enjoying hot chocolate in cosy cafes and wholesome meals in excellent restaurants, all whilst surrounded by Christmas markets and a festive atmosphere.

Day 3 (Tuesday) TALLINN - RIGA
This morning our driver-guide will take you from Tallinn for Riga. After checking into the lovely 4* old town Hotel Justus, and having some time to unpack and get some refreshments, our guide will meet you and take you for a 2 hour walking tour of Riga. Riga is the largest of the three Baltic capitals and boasts a real kaleidoscope of architectural styles. The walking tour of the Old Town includes Riga Castle, the Dome Cathedral, St. Peter’s Church, the Swedish Gate, the Three Brothers, the Large and Small Guilds and the Freedom Monument. After the tour you are free to enjoy the Christmas markets, cosy cafes, or some entertainment.

Day 4 (Wednesday) RIGA
Today is free to explore Riga, to sightsee and discover the Christmas markets. Riga is a big city with plenty to do and see, or you may like to take a local train ride out of town to the seaside resort of Jurmala.

Day 5 (Thursday) RIGA - VILNIUS
This morning after a hearty breakfast we leave for Vilnius, with a stop off on route to visit the remarkable Hill of Crosses near Siauliai. Arrival to Vilnius and check in to your 4* old town Mabre hotel. Enjoy a bite to eat in a local cafe or restaurant, before our guide meets you at the hotel and takes you for a 2 hour walking tour of the old town.

Day 6 (Friday ) VILNIUS
This morning our driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel after breakfast and take you to visit Trakai island castle. Trakai is an iconic fairytale medieval castle not far from Vilnius. In winter the surrounding lake may be frozen and dotted with ice-fishermen, or a scattering of snow makes the castle even more atmospheric. The afternoon is free to explore Vilnius and enjoy the old town festivities and decorations.

After a morning of shopping, galleries, museums or exploring walks, our driver will pick you up from the hotel and drive you to Vilnius airport for your flight home. Depart on Ryanair flight from Vilnius at 17.20 and arrive London Stansted at 18.10.

End of your Christmas market tour of the Baltic Capitals - and feeling well and truly in the Christmas spirit!

Reviews for our Baltic Christmas Markets Tour

"Just a quick note to tell you that we have arrived home safely after a super trip. We just wanted to say how impressed we were with Baltic Holidays organisation and thank you for making our holiday so enjoyable. Everything worked well; our drivers and guides were superb and the hotels were well placed and very comfortable.

Please thank your whole team (Inga, Linas, Ben, Giina, Aldis) from all of us. We would definitely recommend your company to anyone wanting to travel to the Baltics in the future."
Liz, Malcolm, Barbara, Martin, Heather, Brian, Peter and Gill (Baltic Christmas Markets Tour Dec 2015)

"Just returned from a most enjoyable Christmas Markets tour to Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn, pity there was no snow, but one can't have it all. All the arrangements went like clock work including flying from our local airport (Bristol), hotels well situated and everything that was needed. Would recommend your tours to anyone."
Mrs Parker, Dec 2015

"Firstly, and most importantly, it was overall an excellent trip offering very good value for money. Without exception all your staff and the contractors you used were unfailingly welcoming, pleasant, hospitable and helpful with good command of English. A real necessity given the complexities of trying to learn the 3 Baltic languages! Finally, please pass on my thanks and appreciation to all involved in making this another good trip with Baltic Holidays."
Mr Lancaster, Dec 2015
