Stockholm is a charming city on water, the intricate islands give Stockholm a sense of space and nature right in the heart of this capital city. The waterfront atmosphere is part of this city's charm, and the selection of boats are an attraction in itself. Take to the water on a canal tour, or further out exploring the Stockholm archipelago to experience the true delights of the area.
Stockholm is vibrant, trendy, a mix of architecture and nature, has some fantastic cafes, restaurants & bars, museums including the Vasa Museum and Abba Museum, and all these sights are somehow enhanced by the light reflecting from the surrounding water.
As always we’ve handpicked our hotels carefully and are pleased to offer the Skeppsholmen Hotel situated on the first island of the archipelago. The building dates back to 1699, but is now a contemporary eco-friendly waterfront hotel; a rural retreat right in the heart of Stockholm.
If you're visiting Stockholm - why not take the overnight ferry and continue your journey in the Baltic States of Lithuania, Latvia & Estonia...?
Itinerary for our Stockholm 4* City Break
DAY 1 Stockholm Airport To Hotel Transfer
You'll be picked up from the airport , by a driver with a card with your name on it, and transferred privately to your hotel.
DAY 2 Good Morning Stockholm Boat Tour
There is nothing as peaceful as the Stockholm archipelago in the morning. On our way out to the archipelago island Fjäderholmarna we'll pass the Old Town with its beautiful historic buildings followed by the newly-built area, Hammarby Sjöstad. Your guide will tell you about the sights and places we pass along the way.
The tour also includes a stop at Fjäderholmarna (the feather islands) for a guided walk. Although the boat returns back in the city at 11.30, this does not have to be end of the tour for you as the return ticket is valid all day if you want to stay on the island. We would highly recommend this.
What to do on Fjäderholmarna : On the island there are cliffs and a small beach perfect for sunbathing, a little museum for old ships and craftsmen shops with glasblowers, pottery makers, smiths and handycrafts. You can also visit Mackmyra Swedish Whiskey or Fjäderholmarna Brewery and Brewpub. There are several great places to eat and drink on the island. Enjoy the tastes of the archipelago at Fjäderholmarnas Krog, Fjäderholmarnas Magasin & Grill or Rökerie. Get a cup of coffee at Röda Villan or some homemade icecream at Systrarna Degen. The last boat departs at midnight which gives you plenty of time to enjoy the island.
