Reviews for our The Grand Baltic Private Tour (Silver)

"We enjoyed our trip hugely thank you! We would like to pass on our congratulations to the whole team for putting together a fascinating trip."

"Thank you for planning our great trip to the Baltics, Helsinki and St. Petersburg. Overall, I would say we loved this trip. A great trip. We could not have done it without you and your team. Phil, you were consistently responsive to our questions, concerns, requests throughout the planning process. We ended up with a great itinerary. Once the details were handed to Jurga, we could not have been in better hands. She kept us informed of when we would be receiving documents, arranged ballet tickets and offered to help arrange anything else we wanted to do. She answered our concerns about language issues in Russia. Throughout she was consistently responsive to our questions.
Phil – All in all, this was a great trip. We had a lot of fun and never could have done this without the Baltic Holiday Team.
Thank you very much!"
Susan and Stuart Wohl, June 2016

"Thank you for organising our excellent Baltic tour in July/August 2014. We enjoyed the trip immensely and learnt lots about this interesting part of the world. The arrangements ran like clockwork and all our guides and drivers were excellent. You had chosen each hotel well for a convenient central location and we would return to each.

In summary we had a most enjoyable holiday and we will certainly visit the region again. Tallinn and Helsinki were particular highlights whilst we are now very aware that we have only scratched the surface of St Petersburg!"
C & L Singer, 2014

"Just a quick note to say what a wonderful holiday we have just had! Everything worked perfectly – planes, trains and automobiles! The guides were superb! Thank you so much for arranging it all! We are so glad we didn’t do a cruise!! Absolutely NO complaints at all."
Annetta, August 2014

"Just a short line to thank you for organising a fantastic trip to the Baltic States and Russia. We had a thoroughly enjoyable trip and have a special mention for the organisation throughout. We had lots of transport connections and guide changes but everything went very smoothly and, allied to what we were seeing, made it a special trip."
Mr & Mrs Brown, June 2014

"We have just returned from the Grand Baltic Tour and what an amazing holiday it was! Never having been to this part of the world, and knowing very little about it, we booked with some trepidation! We needn't have worried. Everything was excellent. We visited 5 countries and 6 cities including a Moscow add-on, and it just kept getting better and better.
Each city had its own charm. We liked the unspoilt feel of Vilnius, and the charm of Riga, and the quaintness of Tallinn, which was very lively when we were there. Helsinki was fascinating. St. Petersburg showed us opulence that was off the scale, and Moscow blew away our preconceptions. I will never forget the acres of pansies, tulips, and the heady scent of lilac within the Kremlin. The jewels were spectacular.
The people-carriers that moved the 4 of us about were immaculate. Our guides were very knowledgeable, spoke fluent and sophisticated English. At the end of each tour we felt they were our friends. It was our first experience of a private tour, and I recommend it unreservedly. We felt like VIPs. Well done!"
Robinson group, May 2013

"We have just arrived home after a fantastic tour of the Baltic States and Russia. Everything went well. The hotels were good and conveniently located, the staff friendly and helpful, our tour guides and drivers were excellent, both informative and patient with our requests. I would like to thank you and everyone at Baltic Holidays for making this a great trip. Organising a trip of this type from the other side of the world could have been a concern but everything went to plan.Thank You again "
John and Kathy Byrne, September 2012

"All the hotels were very good to excellent. Maria our guide in St Petersburg was exceptional. She accommodated to our interests, kept us safe and is a very intelligent young woman who gave us an insight into her beautiful and facinating city.
Giina was excellent and did a great job of showing us the highlights of Tallinn .She combined a great sense of humour with her skill of bringing the history of Tallin to life.
The drivers were all punctual, polite and the cleanliness of their vehicles puts ours to shame!
As usual independent travellers we really enjoyed not having to put the holiday together. The transfers all worked like clockwork and took away the stress of having to find our own transport. Having previously experienced taxis not turning up it was a delight to have the confidence the transfers would be comfortably made. Excellent trip, thank you to all involved." Mr and Mrs Hull, June 2012

"The guides were all interesting and different, spoke excellent English and showed us their city with enthusiasm and passion.
Maria in St Petersburg obviously enjoyed taking us around....We thought she would be hard to beat but then came our guide In Tallinn who shared my name but with a Russian spelling, Giina, and she too gave us another great guided walk with plenty of time and information.

Inga again was a delight with that beautiful smile of hers..... It was pleasant at the end to sit over a coffee and just chat and despite her busy life with work and study she gave us generously of her time....They all had a deep knowledge of their subject and were happy to be questioned about a wide variety of topic....The two Linass, if that is the plural, again were good. It was Linas who introduced us to the traditional Lithuanian foods .Would we have done that without his encouragement?!!

Ivo took us to a traditional Estonian restaurant and again we sampled typical foods. He also talked about mushrooms and how to prepare them as he had been collecting some while we were walking in the bogs and forests of Valhemaa NP.
We had great holiday....Thankyou for organising our tour so well. Best wishes from a sunny but windy Brisbane........"
Gina, July 2011

"10 out of 10. We are very fussy on how we give ratings and no matter how hard I try to knock of a few points I cannot find any reason, so congratulations for suggesting, arranging and executing a splendid trip."
Peter Smith, August 2011

"We had a totally wonderful time on our trip. Our guides and drivers couldn't have been nicer. The walking tour guide in Riga, Jennifer, was a font of knowledge about absolutely everything. Giina was our guide in Estonia for both tours....Her stories of her family's experiences post WW II under Soviet occupation made the recent history of the region so much more meaningful to us.

I've been raving about the trip to all my friends. The Baltic countries are so lovely, the old towns are so well preserved, the food everywhere was excellent and surprisingly sophisticated, and the people were warm, friendly, and engaging....You did a fantastic job of planning a perfect trip for us.... and I'll definitely recommend you to everyone I know. Thanks so much for all your help."
Elizabeth Lewis, September 2010

" We would both like to thank you for all the excellent arrangements you put in place for us for our Baltic holiday. We had an absolutely wonderful time and all the guides and drivers were excellent. Every guide we had were extremely knowledgeable and very interesting as well as being helpful. We loved Vilnius and the Lithuanian hospitality and Linas was extremely interesting on our drive between Vilnius and Riga. Please pass on our thanks to him.

All the hotels were located in excellent positions which enabled us to wander around and explore more at our own leisure, which we loved. You could not have selected better locations for them all. St. Petersburg was very grand and elegant. We also enjoyed Helsinki and had time to reflect on our whole trip. The Audio tour helped is get our bearings and then we took a lovely boat tour around the islands.

We would just like to thank you so much for all of your very professional arrangements made on our behalf. It has been a holiday full of wonderful memories and we would like to go back to Lithuania to see more of that countryWe will certainly be back to you again for another holiday.
Many thanks Phil."
