The quiet village of Nida is based at the end of the Curonian Spit, on the Baltic coast. With a beach and the Baltic Sea on the west side and the Lagoon on the East side, this is a unique place.
An ideal location to spend one or two weeks in a self catering Fisherman's cottage or a few days in a guest house.
You can also have an opportunity to visit Nida on our 15 nights fully escorted group tour of The Baltics

The Observer Newpaper Article on the Lithuanian Coastline
The Spit stretches from the border of Kaliningrad, Russia, up to the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda, 48 km away.
Those of you who watched, or have read, Michael Palin's New Europe will remember his time on the Curonian Spit. Journeying from the east, of Lithuania, you cross the water at Klaipeda and travel down through the national park and several villages until you arrive in Nida at the bottom.
Make sure you stop off at several viewing stations on your way, to see some lovely views, you can even walk up some dunes, keep to the wooden paths as this a national park and protected land, you will see some spectacular views of the Baltic sea and the lagoon.
Nida is a sleepy little town, that wakes up a little in the summer, only to doze again in the autumn.
It's a lovely place, small wooden Bed & Breakfasts offer basic accommodation, and there are a few restaurants but mostly tourists and locals alike come to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, sand dunes and lovely beach.
The most impressive sand dune is actually in Nida on the peninsula, Parnidis Dune (Parnidzio kopa) is 52 metres high, you can climb steps to the top and enjoy a stunning view of dunes stretching all the way into Russia
If you long for peace and quiet and beautiful nature this is the perfect place for you. Why not stay at Josephs Guest House in Nida

Nida is approximately a 4 hour drive from Vilnius, and around a 3 hour drive from Kaunas.
These prices are very low if booked in January and February but go up by £ 150 thereafter. It really makes sense to book early to take advantage of low flight prices.
3km further down the Curonian Spit is Kaliningrad (Russia) this is a very interesting place to visit for a day or two. However UK citizens need a visa so if you would like to visit Kaliningrad arrangements need to be made in advance of your holiday.

"Just a note of thanks for what was a terrific holiday in Nida- what a great place.
Joseph and his house were brilliant, we couldn't have asked for a more helpful host, (he even set us up with a barbeque the first night, and helped with the cooking), and what a lovely location.
Everyone had a great time. thanks again." The Boyd Family August 2008
"I have never visited anywhere that had such a relaxing effect on me as the view from the sun clock on the Great Dune in Nida. The silky-smooth lagoon to one side of the golden spit and the sparkling waves of the Baltic Sea to the other side was breath-takingly beautiful. We did lots of walking, running and cycling including a walk along the Baltic Sea beach from west of Preila back to Nida (four of the family caught the bus to the start point and two of us ran along the cycle track). There were miles of golden sand and hardly anyone about - only nudists whom we hurried on past!!
We had to eat out every night since the apartment provided only two tiny rings for cooking and the scantist of equipment. But that was fine. Meals for six including deserts for four and drinks for everyone cost £20 - £30. It was a real treat since we never eat out at home as a family. " The Barrett Family July 2003
