FROM THE BALTIC TO THE BLACK SEA
Itinerary for Baltic Amber Coast Escorted Group Tour 2022

Baltic Amber Coast Escorted Group Tour

Very few escorted group tours visit the Russian outpost of Kaliningrad, or get to grips with the Baltic coastline as well as this tour. All along this fabulous coastline are myths and legends about the mysterious amber pieces that grace the shores, along this journey you will learn what a valuable commodity it became and witness some exceptional pieces of beauty. But alongside the amber, you will also find quaint fishing villages and seaside resorts, historical traces of the Teutonic knights and former Prussian influences, long sandy beaches, endless pine forests, vibrant old towns and wonderful opportunities to dine on local specialties. A charming tour, even if you have previously done the Baltic capitals.

13 Nights * 4 star Hotels * Optional day trips & tours * Departure dates July - August * Escorted group tour (max 16 people) * From EUR pp

Day 1 (SATURDAY): ARRIVAL GDANSK

Arrival in Gdansk, optional transfer to Hotel Mercure Gdansk**** or similar.

Day 2 (SUNDAY): GDANSK

In the morning is offered a tour of the so-called Tri-City - a conurbation uniting Gdansk with the lively coastal towns of Sopot and Gdynia. The tour along the 35 km gulf of Gdansk includes a visit to the famous pier in Sopot and a lovely organ concert at the Oliwa Church. In the afternoon we offer an optional tour out of Gdansk to Malborg Castle. Our first stop is at Elblag, a town with a bitter-sweet past and a seemingly bright future. After a short visit of the Old Town with the red bricked St. Nicolas Cathedral we continue to pay a visit to Malbork Castle - a massive fortress founded by the Teutonic knights in the 13th century and beautifully sat on the banks of the sluggish Nogat River. In the evening is offered an optional farewell dinner at the prestigious Restaurant Pod Lososiem.

Day 3 (MONDAY): GDANSK - KALININGRAD

Like a mini-state all to itself, Gdansk has a unique feel, cultured, wealthy and cosmopolitan, that sets it apart from all other cities in Poland. During morning old town walking tour we see Dlugi Targ or Long Market, St. Mary’s Church, St. Bridget’s Church, Artus Court and Gdansk Town Hall. In the afternoon we depart to Kaliningrad, located in an enclave completely surrounded by countries of the EU. Check-in at Hotel Holiday Inn Kaliningrad**** or similar.

Day 4 (TUESDAY): KALININGRAD - KLAIPEDA

While German Königsberg reveled in regal architecture and a cosmopolitan European culture, modern Kaliningrad is undeniable a Russian city. The old Prussian red-brick buildings are intermixed with Soviet blocks of flats, brand new orthodox churches, and glass high-rises. The morning city tour takes us around the city with Victory Square and Kant’s island with the impressive Cathedral of Christ the Savior and we visit the lively Central Market and the fascinating Museum of Amber. In the afternoon we depart from Kaliningrad along the amazing Curonian Spit, a 100 km thin stretch of land between the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon to the picturesque fishing town of Nida and further onwards to Klaipeda. Check-in at Hotel Radisson Blu Klaipeda**** or similar. The evening offers an optional Lithuanian dinner at Restaurant Fredericho Pasazas.

Day 5 (WEDNESDAY): KLAIPEDA - RIGA

Klaipeda first became a part of Lithuania in 1923 and had a long history as a German town called Memel. A short sightseeing tour takes us to the Old Town with its narrow, cobblestone streets and old guild houses and we visit the Theatre Square and the Aennchen von Tharau Fountain. We now continue to the Samogitia National Park, where we enjoy a walking tour around the picturesque Lake Plateliai. After that we continue to Siauliai and Hill of Crosses, one of the holiest sites of Catholic Lithuania. We head North into Latvia and reach Riga in the afternoon. Check-in at Hotel Radisson Blu Latvija**** or similar. The evening offers an optional organ concert at the Dome Cathedral.

Day 6 (THURSDAY): RIGA

Founded in 1201 by the German bishop Albert, Riga is the largest of the three Baltic capitals and boasts a true kaleidoscope of various architectural styles. The walking tour of the Old Town includes Riga Castle, Dome Cathedral,
St. Peter's Church, Swedish Gates, Three Brothers, Large and Small Guild House and the Freedom Monument. The
afternoon is reserved for an optional visit to Jurmala, the vibrant Latvian sea resort, famous for its wooden architecture and sandy beaches. In the evening enjoy an optional Latvian dinner at the stylish Restaurant Forest.

Day 7 (FRIDAY): RIGA - TALLINN

The tour continues along the coastal highway to the Estonian summer resort of Parnu. We do a short tour of the resort before we continue through the North Estonian land of forests and arrive in Tallinn early afternoon, check-in at the Hotel Radisson Blu Olympia**** or similar.

Day 8 (SATURDAY): TALLINN

Tallinn is a charming blend of medieval tranquillity and modern urban life. The medieval Old Town is a busy place in the summer with its many shops, galleries, souvenir markets, outdoor cafés and restaurants. The sightseeing tour takes us around the old medieval city walls and into the Old Town where we see Toompea Castle, Dome Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, medieval Old Town Hall and Great Guild Hall. In the afternoon an optional excursion is offered to Kadriorg Park and visit to KUMU, the award-winning new Estonian Art museum, with its collections of classic and contemporary fine art. The evening offers an optional medieval dinner at Restaurant Maikrahv.

Day 9 (SUNDAY): TALLINN - HELSINKI

This day offers first an optional day excursion to Lahemaa National Park, where we visit Palmse Manor, a memorial to the von Pahlen family, and Sagadi Manor. The tour ends with a visit to the charming 16th century Vihula Manor and the Vodka Museum. After lunch break, we head back to Tallinn to take the ferry to Helsinki and enjoy a refreshing tour through the Finnish archipelago before arriving in Helsinki. Upon arrival we are transferred to our hotel and check-in at Hotel Radisson Blu Seaside**** or similar.

Day 10 (MONDAY): HELSINKI

Helsinki is the green and lively Finnish capital. The sightseeing tour takes us around the harbours and the Senate Square with the Lutheran Cathedral, up central Mannerheim Street and by the Parliament Building, the Finlandia Hall, and the Sibelius Monument and for a visit at the famous Church-in-the-Rock. The afternoon offers an optional excursion to Suomenlinna Fortress, a cultural treasure which construction was started in the 18th century as a sea fortress. Located on an island, the fortress is a unique attraction for visitors. The evening offers optional Finnish dinner at Restaurant Salve.

Day 11 (TUESDAY): HELSINKI - ST PETERSBURG

Today we continue eastbound to St. Petersburg. Shortly after crossing the border into Russia we arrive in Vyborg, where we take time for a short sightseeing tour and a photo-stop at Vyborg Castle. In the late afternoon we arrive in St. Petersburg and check-in at Hotel Sokos Vasilievsky**** or similar.

Day 12 (WEDNESDAY): ST PETERSBURG

St. Petersburg is an amazing city. Its imperial palaces and museums enjoy worldwide fame, while the Neva River and the many canals have deservedly given the city the title of Venice of the North. During the morning sightseeing tour we get acquainted with all the splendours of the city: the Peter-Paul Fortress, the Winter Palace, St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Church of the Bleeding Savior, the Nevsky Convent and much more. The afternoon offers an optional excursion to Zarskoye Selo with the impressive Catherine's Palace and the Amber Room, which vanished during World War II and was restored for St. Petersburg's tri-centennial celebrations. In the evening enjoy an optional visit to the Nikolaevsky Palace with an exciting Russian folklore show and Russian "champagne" and snacks.

Day 13 (THURSDAY): ST PETERSBURG

The morning is reserved for an optional visit to Peterhof, an uncontested masterpiece of the time of Peter the Great, with the impressive Grand Palace, Grand Cascade and Water Avenue and its wonderful parks. In the afternoon, an optional visit to the world-famous Hermitage Art Museum is offered. In the evening enjoy an optional Russian dinner at Restaurant Pryanosti & Radosti.

Day 14 (FRIDAY): ST PETERSBURG

Optional transfer to the airport. End of the tour.
(As you have got your Russian visa for visiting St Petersburg, we highly recommend staying on some extra nights in St Petersburg to see more, there is so much to discover - especially if you want time in the museums. Or continue on to Moscow by train - ask us for further details about extending your trip.)

ALTOGETHER A GREAT SUCCESS.

Dear Jurga and Sally, Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our trip to Poland. Everything went well and the hotels were excellent. We were particularly pleased with our two drivers/guides who were knowledgeable, friendly and extremely helpful. Altogether a great success. Thank you for organising it so efficiently.

TAILOR-MADE PRIVATE TOUR OF POLAND, THE GRINKES, SEPTEMBER 2019

TRAVEL COMPANIES LIKE YOURS ARE A REAL FIND.

Hi Phil and Jurga, We want to thank-you and all the guides, drivers etc. for organising such an amazing and unforgettable trip for us. We had a brilliant time and came home with a completely different and very positive perspective of the Baltic States and Finland. We found every city we visited absolutely fascinating and simply could notpick a favourite. It is hard to pick a highlight, but one of them would have to be the local guides and the drivers who took us for our day outings and did the transfers. Without exception, they were first class. Their passion for their country and willingness to talk about their lives and experiences and, as an example, the impact the Soviet occupation had on them and their families, really brought each country to life and helped us understand a little of what it must have been like then. We were also so impressed with all the paperwork and vouchers we received and know a lot of organisation went on behind the scenes. It all went like clockwork and we were nothing but impressed by your efficiency. Thanks again for a super holiday. We would like to visit St Petersburg and Russia at some point in the future and would have no hesitation in using you again to organise the trip.

A WONDERFUL TRAVEL/LEARNING EXPERIENCE VISITING LITHUANIAN, LATVIA AND ESTONIA!

To the Baltic Holidays Team, we want to express our heartfelt thanks for a wonderful travel/learning experience visiting Lithuanian, Latvia and Estonia! The quality of the guides is exceptional! Each one brought knowledge, passion, pride of their country with enthusiasm and excitement about sharing with us. Their communication skills, friendliness and willingness to share their family stories as related to their countries history of occupation and freedom. This one on one interaction was the highlight of our trip! The itinerary was just right for us with a nice mix of guided versus independent time. The planning team at Baltic Holidays were most helpful from start to finish. We appreciate the suggested itineraries, flexibility of dates and response to emails in timely manner. This trip exceeding our expectations!! Thank you!!

PRIVATE TOUR OF THE BALTIC CAPITALS, S SHULZ & R PERRY, JUNE 2019

WITHOUT DOUBT THE FINEST TOUR COMPANY I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED

They put together an amazing, personalized 1 month tour of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. They drove me to the capitals of each and also to 3 of their incredible beach resorts on the Baltic Sea. There were a lot of moving parts on this tour and it ran like clockwork and any minor hiccup was remedied immediately. I have traveled the world and they are without doubt the finest tour company I have ever encountered and I will be using them soon for a tour of Russia and Ukraine. The staff is terrific and great fun to work with. They go way out of their way to create a flawless experience. Kudos to Jurga, Sarah and Linas for all their amazing work and kindness. If you want to tour the Baltic States, make sure your first call is to Baltic Holidays!!

THANK YOU FOR PUTTING TOGETHER SUCH AN INTERESTING AND VARIED PROGRAMME.

We enjoyed a really wonderful trip. The itinerary was great, and the hotels very well positioned in the towns, and very comfortable. Thank you for putting together such an interesting and varied programme. We had the pleasure of being shown the sights by some marvellous guides. All very passionate about their interests, and very interesting. Their English was extremely fluent, and their knowledge, second to none. We would certainly use your company in the future and recommend your service to our friends.

BALTIC CAPITALS & HELSINKI PRIVATE TOUR, MR & MRS JAMES, OCTOBER 2018

THIS IS THE SIGN OF AN EXCELLENT WELL PREPARED TOUR OPERATOR.

In Minsk our guide Helen was spectacular. She was very informative and accommodated changes as we went along. It was a real treat to visit her parents and their dacha. Our guide in Palanga was Vytaute and she was probably the best guide we have had in the world. She was lively, extremely informative, made changes and recommended changes as we went along. We had dinner at her parents restaurant. This was a real treat and we enjoyed the experience as well as meeting and dining with her parents. This is what we really like. We like restaurants with no tourists. The hotel choices were outstanding and all of our guides were superb. The guides were knowledgable, informative and accommodating. They wanted to make sure we had a good experience and learned about their country/city. Not many recommendations for improvement. This is the sign of an excellent well prepared tour operator. You were able to provide us with a memorable trip.

THE TRIP WAS AMAZING - WE HAD A FABULOUS TIME!

Well what can I say! The trip was amazing-we had a fabulous time! Everything went like clockwork. You chose brilliantly with the accommodation. Thecottage in Palanga was perfect-we had a chance to really relax, cook together and catch up with sleep. Palanga was great to see by bicycle. The manor house in Latvia was stunning and the hosts were a beautiful, kind couple. Finally in Kaunas it was like staying at a relatives house. We felt very welcome and cared for and my children said that Jurgis and Danute reminded them of their grandparents as they felt so comfortable with them! So all in all-a huge thankyou. I have already told lots of people about our holiday and recommended your company.

LINGARD FAMILY HOLIDAY IN LITHUANIA, AUGUST 2018

THANK YOU FOR ONE OF THE BEST HOLIDAYS WE HAVE EVER HAD (AND WE HAVE HAD A FEW!)

Thank you so much for putting together a top notch experience. Please can you pass on our appreciation to Jurga too. Everything went smoothly. The itinerary was spot on, there was something fantastic to see on the days we were on the move and we never felt the journeys were too long. Thank you for one of the best holidays we have ever had (and we have had a few!)

THE STAFF AT BALTIC HOLIDAYS ARE PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND EXCEEDINGLY FLEXIBLE

My husband and I worked with the exceptional staff at Baltic Holidays to plan two remarkable tailor-made vacations: One to Russia, Finland and Estonia, the other to Eastern Europe visiting Bucharest, Budapest and Prague. The accommodations were perfect and located in convenient places in the cities we visited. The guides we had for day trips both in and out of the cities were knowledgeable, smart and each and everyone went out of their way to make our visit wonderful. We were warmly greeted at the airport and bus stations with staff that took us to our hotels and delivered us back on time and in comfort. Baltic Holidays went the extra mile to help us get tickets to concerts, operas and even the Moscow Circus. But best of all the staff at Baltic Holidays are professional, knowledgeable and exceedingly flexible. We spend lots of time communicating on e-mail about different trip options until we got our plans just right. We feel like the staff are friends now and look forward to working with them again on our next adventure.

THE EXPERTS FOR A TAILOR MADE TRIP TO THIS FASCINATING PART OF THE WORLD

Baltic Holidays did a first class job for us from start to finish. The care and attention with which they planned the trip was outstanding. They were highly flexible to our professional photography needs. Each of the guides went beyond the call of duty in helping us and we saw some extraordinary off the beaten track events and people. They are the experts for a tailor made trip to this fascinating part of the world.

MR J STRACHAN, TAILOR-MADE PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR OF THE BALTIC STATES, JULY 2017

HATS OFF TO BALTIC HOLIDAYS. YOU GAVE US A TRIP OF A LIFETIME.

Our trip was superb, Philip. As you well know, before the trip I customized it quite a bit. Your team was terrific in accommodating that customization. The result was a unique and spectacular trip. I could go on at great length to tell you how much we enjoyed this trip but, instead, will save time by simply telling you that Denise and I have traveled quite extensively and we both agreed that this was one of our favorite trips ever. That is in large part due to your team's hard work before we landed and once we were in country. The Baltics trip was the first time that we traveled on our own but used a tour company to help plan and then fully support the trip. You have now spoiled - and ruined - us. Hats off to Baltic Holidays. You gave us a trip of a lifetime.

MR & MRS SERGESKETTER, TAILOR-MADE TOUR OF THE BALTIC CAPITALS, KALININGRAD & BELARUS, JULY 2017

WE HAVE LEARNT SO MUCH ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THE FIVE COUNTRIES

Dear Jurga, We arrived home safe and sound on Saturday afternoon and, now, our minds are full of wonderful memories of a very enjoyable trip. Thank you very much for organising such a comprehensive holiday for us. Everything went like clockwork: guides were excellent, erudite and solicitous and good travelling companions, excellent selection of hotels -a faultless holiday. We have learnt so much about the history of the five countries and have met many friendly and welcoming people. Once again thank you for all your work.

MR CYSTER, GRAND BALTIC PRIVATE TOUR (VILNIUS, RIGA, TALLINN, HELSINKI, ST PETERSBURG, MOSCOW), SEPTEMBER 2017

WE WILL CERTAINLY BE BOOKING THROUGH BALTIC HOLIDAYS AGAIN

We had the most wonderful holiday. It was brilliantly organised for us from start to finish. What can I say - we loved everything! It is not easy to meet the needs of 6 people ages 14 and up, but our holiday did just that. All the accommodation was wonderful... The trips were fantastic. I was a little unsure what we would get from a walking tour in Vilnius as I hadseen some of the main sights on my last visit, but it was great! The rest of our daytrips, including visits to Trakai, Hill of Crosses, and the Curonian Spit were with Linas, our lovely guide. We were so well looked after. He did everything possible give us a good experience of the country, especially when we took a day trip to the region where our family used to live, helping us to explore our connections to the area. The only problem with the trip is that it has left us so desperately wanting to return to Lithuania again - there is still so much to see and explore! It may take a little while to get back there but we will certainly be booking through Baltic Holidays again when we do. Sending best wishes to all of the lovely Baltic Holidays team, and thank you for a truly memorable holiday.

MIKALAUSKAS FAMILY, TAILOR-MADE TOUR OF LITHUANIA, AUGUST 2017

WE HAD AN ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL TIME.

We had an absolutely wonderful time. It exceeded our expectations, helped by good weather and the absence of crowds. I am so glad I read that article in The Guardian which prompted me to call you. We particularly loved the day in the canoe and on the bog, the cookery class, the lovely guide in Tallinn and being left on our own to walk and cycle. Thank you all so much!

PHILIPPA, TAILOR-MADE TOUR OF ESTONIA, SEPTEMBER 2017

BALTIC HOLIDAYS MET EVERY NEED AND EXPECTATION!

We enjoy the ease of first-class packaged holidays but prefer traveling independently and on our own agenda with assistance as required. In this regard Baltic Holidays met every need and expectation! Once we set our desireddestinations and dates, Baltic Holidays put together the most suitable hotels, booked expert drivers, and arranged for top notch guides in each city. Everything worked like clockwork. We were able to sit back and enjoy the trip without ever worrying about transportation, payments, or hotel arrangements.

MR & MRS WHITE, TAILOR-MADE PRIVATE BALTIC CAPITALS TOUR, SEPTEMBER 2017

THE GUIDES WERE EXCEPTIONAL, THE DRIVING EXCELLENT, THE HOTELS PERFECTLY LOCATED

Sally, thank you for all the work you did to make our trip so remarkable---the guides were exceptional, the driving excellent, the hotels perfectly located and comfy and the opera seats perfect---what a trip!!---we especially liked Ben in Vilnius for his energy, willingness to answer all questions and ability to show us so much in a short time---also Inga in Riga for her flexibility, quick pace and deep knowledge of the culture and architecture--and also Aldis for his willingness to go above the expected, to share stories of his beloved Latvia, to help us understand the history of his country and the beauty of it---and Ivo for helping us understand manor life and that history, for his stories about life in Estonia, for going beyond in making sure we saw more of Tallinn on our way back---thanks for choosing everything with such care---we loved the countries.

HEIDI FIELDS GROUP OF 6 FRIENDS, BALTIC CAPITALS TAILOR-MADE TOUR, OCTOBER 2017

THE ORGANISATION WAS OUTSTANDING

We want to say how much we enjoyed the whole trip. The organisation was outstanding and everything went just as was planned.Of course being our first visit, everything we saw was a completely new experienceso we have many happy memories to look back on, with each capital city quite different to the other two, as we found when going to Riga from Vilnius and then to Tallin. Tartu was a charming little town too and we were glad we included a cross-country trip. The hotels were excellent and overall there is nothing at all we could suggest needed improvement. We are so glad and grateful that we were finally able to make the trip after the disappointment in April. Our sincere thanks to everyone who was involved in providing us with a truly memorable experience.

TAILOR-MADE KNITTING GROUP TOUR OF LATVIA & LITHUANIA

We enjoyed every minute of our recent trip with Donna Druchunas to Lithuania and Latvia. Thanks to you and your team for all the work you did to make it happen! We had a lovely time, and are grateful to you, to Jurga, and to Baltic Holidays. THANK YOU!!

DONNA DRUCHUNAS' KNITTING TOUR OF LITHUANIA & LATVIA, THE WEINERTS, JULY 2019

THE ITINERARY WAS PERFECT, CONTAINING LOTS OF CONTRAST, VARIED SIGHT-SEEING AND SOME LOVELY RESTFUL DAYS

Just to say "Thank you," for arranging such a truly memorable holiday for us. The itinerary was perfect, containing lots of contrast, varied sight-seeing and some lovely restful days at the manor house, just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful setting. The hotels were good and especially well located in Riga and Jurmala, but the manor housewas something special. I don't think we had ever before stayed anywhere so peaceful. Our driver, Martinas, played a very significant part in our holiday. He was professional, flexible, friendly and knowledgeable. We both learned a great deal from his fascinating stories about his and his family's experiences and about life in Latvia today. We came to regard him as a friend and we were sorry to say goodbye to him. Aldis, who was with us for one day was also very kind and helpful. So, "Well done!" Baltic Holidays. We look forward to booking with you again.

PRIVATE TOUR OF LATVIA, JOHN & HEATHER, AUGUST 2019

YOU DID A VERY GOOD JOB OF SETTING THIS UP, DIRECTING US TO INTERESTING AND VARIED PLACES

Our trip went very well. Everything was a highlight but I think the best part were the guides. They were so knowledgeable, friendly, willing to answer all our questions. Marina would be my best friend if I lived in Finland. Ivo, Erlens, and, Linas were great too. The bike tour guides were fantastic also. All of them were passionate about their country and very knowledgeable about what we were seeing. Through them we felt we got to know the country, the history, the people and them too. Everyone was precisely on time. I think you did a very good job of setting this up, directing us to interesting and varied places: a hike through the bog, castles and palaces, cute towns, etc. The hotels were great. Friendly staff and so very well located. Again, thank you for making this trip so wonderful. I’d easily go on another trip with you.

TAILOR-MADE BALTIC CAPITALS TOUR, THE BELLS, AUGUST 2019

OUR TRIP WAS GREAT.

Hi Phil, Our trip was great. Everything we wanted and expected. We were met at exactly the stated times. Ivo was a fantastic guide, but Mati who drove us to Tartu was excellent. He went out of his way to find the cemetery I was looking for. This was the main reason for our trip. Overall we were very satisfied.

ESTONIA FAMILY HERITAGE TOUR, MS BARNES, SEPTEMBER 2019

HOW IMPRESSED WE WERE WITH THE ORGANISATION OF OUR TRIP

We had a fantastic holiday and everything went very smoothly. We were also lucky enough, albeit through a vehicle fault, to meet up with Jurga. Her husband was our guide on the day out in Riga but unfortunately the car developed a problem. Jurga came out with another vehicle. It was great to meet her having had so many e-mail conversations. It was good to be able to say how impressed we were with the organisation of our trip. It was really well put together and all of the guides were very good and knowledgeable. Bearing in mind the length of time we spent with them we had no hitches. We learnt a lot from the trip and enjoyed hearing the guides' stories.

ST PETERSBURG & BALTIC CAPITALS PRIVATE TOUR, THE LANGANS, AUGUST 2019

EVERY ONE OF OUR DRIVERS AND GUIDES EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS.

We appreciated all your good advice on the itinerary. It was a great idea that we go to St. Petersburg via Helsinki (a very cool city!)...the ferry and high-speed train were efficient and quite comfortable. The choice of hotels suited us perfectly...thanks for placing us so centrally in each city. The hotelin Tallinn was the most luxurious, but even at the more modest places in Vilnius and Riga, the location and the warm and helpful hotel staff made our stays delightful. And the manor housewas remarkable. Every one of our drivers and guides exceeded our expectations. The walking tours were informative, meaningful, and great fun.

OUR WONDERFUL TRIP TO THE BALTICS AND ST PETERSBURG

At last I’m getting back on our wonderful trip to the Baltics and St. P. It all went great. We particularly enjoyed and were impressed by Linas in Lithuania. He’s an endless source of info and a lot of fun. Jurga was terrific and we did make a requested last minute change in St P which she handled with great efficiency. I think her management skills, task and choices were perfect for us in the Baltics. She isa consummate professional. So in closing on this rambling feedback, your company did not disappoint and I will recommend you to anyone I know who plans to visit the Baltics. I will also recommend the Baltics.

EXCELLENT, WELL BALANCED ITINERARY

In summary, we would like to add that we described our Scandinavian package as EXCELLENT, well BALANCEDitinerary and especially the variety of hotels, means of transportation, guides, transfer which were all FLAWLESSLY arranged. After 35 days on the road, we had no desire to terminate the holiday.

SCANDINAVIAN CAPITALS PRIVATE TOUR, MR & MRS WHITE, SEPTEMBER 2019

WE DID A LOT OF LAST MINUTE ADJUSTMENTS AND OFF THE BEATEN PATH TRIPS THAT WERE GREAT.

The trip was excellent!! Baltic Holidays did a wonderful job and I would definitely reach out to them again, at some point I will be planninga trip to the Russia. The guides were great and very flexible. I had been traveling for 4 weeks by the time my trip started so I had seen my fill of churches and castles, so we did a lot of last minute adjustments and off the beaten path trips that were great. I really enjoyed the trip, Sarah.

THANK YOU AND THE TEAM AT BALTIC HOLIDAYS FOR THE GREAT PROGRAMME, AS WELL AS FOR YOUR CARE AND ATTENTIVENESS

We had a wonderful tour last month and I'd like to thank you and the team at Baltic Holidays for the great programme, as well as for your care and attentiveness. I've posted the following review on TripAdvisor a few moments ago: We have recently returned from a two-week tour of the Baltics, combining the Baltic Capitals Private Tour with stays in Kaunas and Palanga at the end, and we can thoroughly recommend Baltic Holidays to others thinking of visiting the region. The itinerary was well thought through and was ideal for a first holiday in the three countries. The accommodation was well chosen and centrally located, which made it easy to explore each of the cities. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and enabled us to discover many great places that we would never have found on our own. We especially enjoyed the wonderful restaurants in each of the cities that we visited. Overall we had a great holiday and would like to thank Phil and the team at Baltic Holidays.

BESPOKE BALTIC TOUR - 'THE TRIP WAS EXCELLENT!'

The trip was excellent. All your arrangements worked like clockwork, and we were well spoiled. The guides were all delightful in their own different ways, especially Linas and Aldis. I was relatively surprised to find how modern looking, clean and civilised all the States were— and the roads are a damned sight better than ours. People everywhere were delightful. Altogether a great trip, for which many thanks. Keeping three well travelled old guys happy is not an easy task.

THE GUIDES WE HAD WERE EXCEPTIONAL!

The guides we had were exceptional! Kertu - told us so much about living in Communist times and brought the whole city to life. Inga, in Riga, really knows about architecture as she is working on her PH.D in that field. Thank you or someone for Ieva! We had a great time talking about nature, schools, etc. So, in all, everyone one was well or over-qualified to talk with us about cities, countries, communism, cooking and other stuff! Oh, I forgot Vickie, who took us to the Curonian Spit. What a fun, upbeat person! She brought a picnic lunch for us so we could sit and enjoy it on the hilltop above Nida, where the German writer's home is located.

WE REALLY LOVE THE WHOLE TRIP – BETWEEN SHADES OF GRAY

Thanks for your warmest escort in Vilnius and Kaunas, it has been a wonderful time for me, Sam and Tai. You and your expertise team like Cyrus and Vytaute have keep us informed that Lithuanians are sincere and courtesy to make friends... The sightseeing in KGB Museum, 9th Fort and Cold War Museum let our visions open wide that we seems to be the 'Pioneer'; to share our Lithuania experience amongst our peers group. We really love the whole trip - Between Shades of Gray, not to mention the accommodation, heritage sites and great food.

ESTONIA WAS FANTASTIC, SO MANY THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR STAFF

Estonia was fantastic, so many thanks to you and your staff (particularly Jurga) for arranging everything for us. Many highlights but in particular the cookery class at Mer Mer was unique (our guide Ivo took the recipes for the salmon and duck dishes we made - appreciate if you could ask him to forward on please?); thehotels were very very good, dinner at the Tchaikovsky was an unforgettable experience and the bog walking and canoeing in Soomaa was great fun. The dawn and evening safaris they run there to watch the beavers looked really good, albeit April would be a cold month to do that in. Tallinn was also a lovely city to spend a couple of days and nice to see it prior to tourist season. All the guides were excellent too. Our 7 yr old daughter had a fab time too!

FIRST TIME WE HAVE USED A HOLIDAY COMPANY

We would like to thank you both for organising our recent short break in Riga. Everything worked perfectly from the moment we were met at the airport to when we were driven back to the airport at the end. It was the first time we have used a holiday company – we usually book our hotels and flights ourselves – but we are very glad that we did. We have been telling our friends about our good experience with Baltic Holidays, so hopefully you might get some more bookings! Thank you once again – and please thank Inga and Aldis for making our holiday so much better.

MOSCOW & ST PETERSBURG PRIVATE TOUR

I wanted to let you know how nicely everything worked out. We will have a hard time deciding between Moscow and St Petersburg. Which one will we like better? Who knows. This is a really great trip and we want to thank you again!

MORE LIKE A FRIEND THAN A GUIDE

The organisation of our trip was very professional and ran like clockwork. It was great to have everything organised and to not worry about driving or finding places of interest. We met some lovely tour guides especially Vicky in Palanga who was a fantastic host and felt more like a friend than a guide. We were pleasantly impressed by the standards of Eastern Europe and enjoyed the food and reasonable prices too. We would definitely recommend the baltics to our friends. In fact our 22 year old son said we could even leave him in Lithuania!

GREAT TO KNOW WE COULD CONTACT JURGA AT ANY TIME

Thanks we had a great trip, the hotels you picked for us were lovely, good locations and interesting buildings. The guide in Helsinki was really nice and took us to some places that we would not have thought of, including the university library building. Most of all it was great to know we could contact Jurga at any time so I would like to especially thank her for her help.

VERY HAPPY WITH THE WAY YOU HAD ORGANISED OUR HOLIDAY

Dear Sarah, We really enjoyed ourselves. Helsinki and Tallinn are both great places to visit in very different ways. We loved the laid back atmosphere in Helsinki and walking by the sea right by the city centre. Tallinn is stunningly beautiful. Every corner you go round brings another amazing view. We were very happy with the way you had organised our holiday. The hotels were both excellent and all the pick ups were right on time. All in all we had a great time and enjoyed it from start to finish.
