December 24-25: Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (expect some restaurants & attractions to be closed)

January 13: Day of the Defenders of Freedom (marks the successful public defense in 1991, preventing a Soviet takeover of the Lithuanian Parliament)

March 6-8: Kaziukas (St. Casimir) Fair

March 11: Day of Restoration of Independence of Lithuania (1990)

April 3-6: Easter weekend (Good Friday and Easter Sunday are commonly known as Didysis Penktadienis and Velykos in Lithuania; expect some venues to be closed)

April (last weekend) Kaunas Jazz Festival

April 23-25: New Baltic Dance Festival in Vilnius

May 16: Night of Museums

May 16: Street Music Day

May (last week): Kaunas City Days Festival

May 29-31: Pink Soup Fest June (dates to be announced) Trakai Medieval Festival

June 23-24: Midsummer's Eve and Midsummer's Day (commonly known as Jonines or Rasos) Expect closures and a quiet old town as people celebrate in the countryside and celebrations can last all night long)

July 4-6: Days of Living Archaeology Festival in Kernave

July 6: Statehood Day

July (last weekend): Klaipeda Sea Festival

August 15: Assumption Day (also called Žolines)

September tbc: Fluxus Festival in Kaunas - dates coming soon

November 1-2: All Saints & All Souls Day (Both are deeply significant holidays for remembrance, where people visit cemeteries to clean graves and light thousands of candles)
