  • Private tours & local experiences

  • Tailored to suit you

Day 1 - Arrival to Stockholm

Private transfer from Stockholm airport to your hotel

This tour works very well in all seasons, so enjoy the variety of photos!

Day 2 - Stockholm

Stockholm Old Town Private Tour (3 Hours)

Our guide will meet you in the hotel reception, to take you for a 3-hour walking tour of Gamla Stan, Stockholm's old town. Gamla Stan, is one of the largest and best-preserved medieval city centers in Europe, and one of the foremost attractions in Stockholm. This is where Stockholm was founded in 1252. All of Gamla Stan and the adjacent island of Riddarholmen are like a living pedestrian-friendly museum full of sights, attractions, restaurants, cafés, bars and places to shop. Gamla Stan is also popular with aficionados of handicrafts, curios and souvenirs. The narrow winding cobblestone streets, with their buildings in so many different shades of gold, give Gamla Stan its unique character. Enjoy the company of a local, and pick up some insider tips on places to eat, sights to visit etc...

Day 3 - Stockholm

Free day in Stockholm

Today you can choose what you see. Perhaps you want time to visit the museums (the Vasa museum is highly recommended), galleries or shops and some leisurely dining. If you want to visit something out of the city centre, we can arrange a private guide to take you on a day trip out of town. A visit to the archipelago is a highlight perhaps on a ferry cruise with lunch on an island, or a kayaking adventure - discuss this with us directly.

What to visit in Sweden?

Choose what you want to see and experience in Sweden and we always welcome special requests!

Day 4 - Stockholm to Swedish Lapland

Choose from a direct flight or overnight train journey

The way you travel up to Swedish Lapland is up to you - let's look at the options for your dates. A direct flight is the quickest if you are short on time, but we highly recommend taking the overnight train for an adventure and sustainable alternative. Whichever you choose, we will have you transferred from your hotel to the airport or train station and met upon arrival in Swedish Lapland.

(Where you stay in Swedish Lapland depends on your interests, requirements, budget - best to chat with us about all the awesome opportunities!)

Staying at the Treehotel in Swedish Lapland

Our driver will pick you up from Lulea airport or the local train station (they will have a sign with your name on it) and will drive you to the Treehotel in Harads. Welcome to Swedish Lapland!

We will help match you with the best room type and activities at the Treehotel to match you.

Northern Light Tour (2 Hours)

If you want to see the Northern Lights on your tour you need to be visiting Swedish Lapland between September and March. Depending on the weather conditions, take a ride on a snowmobile out into the Arctic wilderness, a few kilometres away from the artificial lights, and enjoy the evening under the dancing Aurora Borealis. The tour only goes if the weather is clear, and it can also be done on snowshoes or by car instead.

Day 4 - Treehotel in Harads

Village Walk With Fika In A Swedish Home

Our local guide will show you around Harads and tell stories about the history, nature and culture. Afterwards, you are invited home to enjoy the Swedish 'Fika'. A really nice way to experience some local village life and an insight into local ways and culture.

There are many other activities and experiences to enjoy while staying at the Treehotel. Choose from seasonal active adventures like husky rides or kayaking, to cultural experiences learning about the Sami culture or local culinary treats. We can recommend the best ones for you.

Day 5 - Treehotel to Arctic Bath

Treehotel - Arctic Bath Private Transfer

Our driver will meet you at your hotel reception and drive you to the Arctic Bath Hotel - it is very close! From one awesome accommodation experience to another... Get settled in at the Arctic Bath hotel and choose from a variety of local experiences before enjoying the unique hotel spa. For at least one night you should pre-book the Arctic Culinary Experience...

Day 6 - Arctic Bath

Lapland Foraging Tour (2.5 Hours)

Meet Eva, local forager and culture guide. Eva has a passion for edible plants and berries and loves sharing her life through stories, flavours and songs. During this easy tour she will walk with you through the pine and birch forest to the meadows surrounding the Tree hotel, discovering her treasures from nature. You will taste and know more about the local plants as well as the traditions of usage. Then a special ”fika” is served with Eva's treats she has made from her foraged treasures. Eva has lived with the reindeer herders for many years and experienced the traditions from having a life close to nature. In this tasty tour she wants to give you an understanding about the wonderful arctic everyday life.

Other activities are of course available to suit the season and your interests.

Upon arrival to Kiruna, our driver will meet you at the train station and drive you to Jukkasjarvi. It is time to stay at the Icehotel in Swedish Lapland - another truly extraordinary overnight experience. On your first night you will stay in a warm room - this is normal hotel room style. Enjoy dinner at the Icehotel and experience the Icebar.

There are some amazing experiences to book at the Icehotel - discuss these with us directly.

Day 7 - Icehotel at Jukkasjarvi

Exploring Jukkasjarvi

Today we would recommend a walk into Jukkasjarvi to see life in the town and visit the museum and wooden church.

Northern Lights Dinner

The Northern Lights, Aurora Borealis, is a natural phenomenon that appears during special weather conditions in the Arctic region, and Jukkasjärvi is scientifically proven to be one of the best places in the world to catch a glimpse of it. When you have arrived to the camp you will enjoy a warm aperitif in front of the fire and the guide will tell you about the myths and legends of the northern lights and what causes it to occur. During the evening the guide will serve a three-course dinner inside a warm cottage where the menu is inspired by nature and the ingredients we have around us. Hopefully, you also get to see the northern lights dancing in the sky.

Tonight you will stay in a cold room at the hotel - an ice room. If you visit during winter this can be in the annual icehotel (that is created every year from scratch). All other times of the year, it is possible to stay in a 365 ice room available all year round due to a special environment. Sleep well!

Choose from numerous awesome activities at the Icehotel - chat with us about the options.

Day 8 - Jukkasjarvi to Kiruna

Jukkasjarvi - Kiruna Private Transfer

Our driver will meet you at your hotel reception and drive you to Kiruna. Check-in at Camp Ripan for your stay in Kiruna.

Kiruna - A City On The Move Tour

The city of Kiruna is transforming in many ways when the big iron ore mine is going deeper. The oldest parts of town will disappear and historic buildings will have to move. Environments and houses will be moved or torn down. People and businesses are being affected. Our guided tour will start at Kiruna tourist office. We will guide you through our existing city centre, visit Kiruna church and Kristallen our new City hall and Artmuseum in North. The tour continues towards Luossavaara to get a view over the city and the mountains, where we also tell about the plans for the Luossavaara area and shows the historical buildings that have been moved. During the tour, we will give you an insight into the ongoing city transformation. We visit the northeast area of Kiruna, which will become the new city centre and drive through the company area and the mine city park in the old part of Kiruna. We end the tour with coffee/tea and a sandwich.

Lots of other activities are available in Kiruna to suit the season and your interests.

Day 9 - Kiruna

Traditional Sapmi Cooking Experience

Welcome to a journey in the world of the senses of the Sami cuisine where you can cook and eat a meal with traditional food from Sápmi. It is a taste of the traditional food and culture, based on a long experience of taking advantage of what nature offers. Baking gáhkku (Sami traditional bread) over an open fire, produce the special coffee cheese and cooking meat are some of the things you will learn during the day and you get the chance to taste other Sami food also. Around the fire in the goahti (sami hut) we talk about Sami food, culture, and way of relating to nature and animals. There we also eat our own cooked meal. We pick you up in Kiruna and head west towards the mountains where we spend the day in Puoltsa, where we cook mostly in the goahti sitting around the fire. A chance for the food and culture enthusiasts to get an insight into Sami culinary traditions.

Or choose an alternate activity or excursion for today...

Day 10 - Kiruna

Aurora Tour With Dinner In Abisko

From Kiruna we drive by car into the night. Our goal is to catch the Northern Lights, learn more about nature, local culture and to visit the famous Abisko. Outside the window, we see the stars and if we are lucky, a hint of green auroras in the sky. 1.5 hours later we are there, going for a three-course dinner down in the Abisko village. We talk about nature, Sami culture, northern lights and local history. If the weather is good after dinner, we take a walk in the Abisko national park, to experience the landscape and look for the aurora. Our guides are educated photo guides so if you bring your camera, we help you to take photos. If there is not good weather in Abisko we start to drive back to Kiruna, and if we are lucky the sky gets clearer.

Remember that it is between September and March that the Northern Lights make an appearance. We have all sorts of other activities for other times of the year.

Day 11 - End of the tour

Thanks for all of your expertise in arranging our once-in-a-lifetime holiday in Sweden. It was amazing.

The dog sledding in the dark was an amazing experience and one we won't soon forget! Very cold and very dark but that did not stop us from having a fantastic time. We learned about dog sledding in general and we had just as much fun interacting with the dogs as we did chatting amiably with the members of the family in their home afterward. It felt very personal/intimate, exactly what we were looking for. Our snowshoeing experience was not just a fun trip through the breathtaking landscape but a fascinating lesson in Sweden culture, its flora and fauna, and survival skills. Our guide was very informative and tailored the trip so our kids could keep up and stay engaged. Both the hovercraft ride and the snowmobile trekking were fun and thrilling for all members of our family, racing across the frozen Baltic Sea and through the dazzling snow-covered landscape. As stunning as it was in winter, it is a place we would love to come back to during the summer. Thank you again for organizing a once-in-a-lifetime holiday for our family! We are delighted with our trip.
